catch up

This will be a catch up blog...

So much has happend since my last post and I'm going to try my very best to remember it all and update as best I can!

Ava LOVES music! She sings and dances anytime music is on. It doesn't matter what kind of music, my kid gets down! Her latest past time is to make music herself. Her favorite instrument...drums! She is always using something that resembles drum sticks and she will drum anywhere she can find. This includes, daddy's tummy!

Here she is actually playing a drum set, well, a rock band drum set! But she has real drum sticks! My dad will be so proud!!

Ava is talking up a storm. She loves to repeat words and noises. She's learning so much in a day that it's difficult for me to keep up. Everyday she amazes me more and more with how many new things she comes up with. She loves to point out body parts on everybody and kiss other kids when she sees their pictures. She's full of love and she's constantaly laughing. This morning, for example, I was sitting on the couch paying bills online. Ava crawls up on the couch and sits down next to me. She pats my leg and then gives me a wet willie. She then starts laughing her butt off! I don't know where she learns these things, but I love every new thing she come up with. Well, most of the time...

She also has a new love of basketball games. She loves the action of the back and forth and she cheers and claps when someone scores. (We're working on her only cheering for the right team!) She knows the difference between a regular ball and a basketball and she is even working on her dribbling! She is just a riot!

The other day I went to Amber's to get my hair done and Amber cut Ava's hair. It was her first hair cut! Although, Ava would have probably prefered to cut her hair herself, she sat quite still and let Amber do her thing. It wasn't a "real" hair cut seeing as how I love Ava's curls and would never cut them off (until she's ready) but she needed her bangs cut so that's what we did! Amber did a fantastic job of not giving her bangs-bangs but trimmed them enough that they weren't in her eyes anymore. Here are a few pictures of Ava getting her hair cut!

A new love Ava has developed is for sand. She never used to care much for the park because she never really cared for the sand. She didn't like to walk in it, fall in it or touch even touch it! But the weather has been so gorgeous lately that we took advantage and walked to the park over the weekend. Ava LOVED the sand. We spent a half hour just sitting in the sand playing. We also had a picnic for the first time and she had a ball sitting on the blanket eating her lunch. Everyday with Ava is so amazing and I'm incredibly blessed!

I apologize for not updating in a while, but I think that about does it for now. I will do my absolute best to keep this thing updated as often as possible. I know people look here for updates regularly (thank you, Auntie Gloria!!) and I will try to be a little more regular!
